To celebrate 500 years since his birth, the National Library of Portugal hosts two exhibitions dedicated to Luís de Camões, between May and September 2026. The exhibitions are designed by Francisco Aires Mateus, the graphic design is by Pedro Falcão. “No Rasto de Luís de Camões” is a major exhibition that seeks to illustrate how the memory of Luís de Camões has been shaped over time. It is a reexamination of the poet’s life and work, highlighting the technical and scientific innovations his work evokes. Organized into four sections, the exhibition is curated by Vanda Anastácio. The life of the author of “Os Lusíadas” was marked by travel, uncertainties, and achievements. The exhibition “Onde Terá Segura a Curta Vida? Camões e a Vida como Viagem” approaches life as a voyage, revealing human fragility, the risk of shipwreck, and the need for perseverance, hope, and openness to the world. The exhibition, presented at UNESCO headquarters in Paris in 2025, is curated by Anísio Franco, Filipa Oliveira, and Paulo Pires do Vale. Lisboa, Portugal 2026
